The Night of the Stars has been taking place in Mexico since 2009, and it has generally been a great success since the attendance is quite large.

The mission of this event is to bring astronomy to as many people as possible, the dynamic consists of inviting everyone who has a telescope to join this project and make it available to the general public, with the sole intention to bring the magic of the night sky to a wider public.

At Skyshop we do not identify with this movement, since the objective is to strengthen a scientific culture taking astronomy as a basis to generate interest for anyone who feels a minimum of curiosity.

Several prestigious institutions participate in this event, such as the UNAM, the Mexican Academy of Sciences (AMC), the UNAM Institute of Astronomy, the IPN, the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE), the Mexican Association of (AMPAC), as well as the Mexican Space Agency (AEM), among some telescope providers.

This year the event in the CDMX will take place in the Zócalo Plate, in the historic center, in León in the EXPLORA museum, if you want to know your location you can look for it on the official page of night of stars as well as on Saturday, December 3 in a schedule from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., of course it is completely free.

Skyshop is not part of the organizers, but rest assured that we will be there, contributing our bit, as we are committed to the dissemination and democratization of science.
