The red planet is coming

No, we are not talking about a conspiracy theory, we are talking about Mars the red planet, this because it is approaching its closest point with Earth this December 1st and its opposition will be on the 8th of the same month.

The closest encounter produced by these two planets occurs when Mars is closest to the sun and Earth is farthest away. At this point a distance of 54.6 million kilometers separates them. This phenomenon is called Opposition.

A similar approach occurred in 2003 when Mars was 55.7 million kilometers from Earth. In 2018 it was 57.6 million kilometers away and although it will not be so close this December 1st, it will not be until 2035. That year, like the first of December, thanks to its proximity to sunlight and almost frontal, its reddish-orange color, it could be seen better and it will make it look bigger, from both hemispheres, obviously at night, although this event you will be able to enjoy it without a telescope, we highly recommend observing it with one. Of course, there is no need to take factors such as light pollution and weather conditions into account.

Now, as additional information, Mars arouses a lot of interest and it turns out that Mars could have had water, had oceans at least 300 meters deep and that it could have hosted life long before Earth, or at least this is what the study in Science magazine says.

According to the authors of the study, this could have happened in the first 100 million years of Mars, and that all that ended with another planet of a similar size to Mars that gave rise to our Moon and at the same time ended life on Mars. .

Well now you know that Mars had water and could have had life and the most important thing is that tomorrow, December 1st, you will be able to enjoy the sight of the red planet that for generations has kept us captive and intrigued.
